  • Q What Korean word can I use to be friendly to the people of Daejeon during my travels?
    A

    Most people of Daejeon speak the standard dialect, while some have an accent of a different dialect.
    Why not try using the dialect? Instead of saying ‘annyeonghaseyo’ for hello, all you have to do is speak slowly and put a long ‘yu (yoo)’ at the end and say ‘an-nyeong-ha-se-yu~~~’

  • Q Can I use personal electronic devices in Daejeon?
    A

    The voltage in Daejeon and the rest of Korea is 220 volts / 60 Hz. You should bring an adaptor to use personal electronics when visiting Daejeon, or you can purchase a 110 volt adapter for cheap as well

    Free internet is available at large shopping malls, major subway stations, and public libraries in the city.
